Machined from grade aircraft steel than heat treated for strength. Then some models are chrome plated, giving you an axle that's not only strong but looks great! *(1) some model are standard machine metal, an unfinished grade much like stock, only stronger and less expensive. These axles are splined to fit OEM or equivalent hubs, sprocket and brake hardware. Simple low cost replacement axle
